There is roughly 250 million registered cars in USA and apart from this there are around 10 million un-registered vehicle too. Most of these cars are of large car unlike in India most of the cars are fuel efficient 1000 cc range. This is the main reason of extinction of leading car manufacturer likewise GMC, Ford. Because they didn't think of making small fuel efficient car like current leading manufacturer in the world like Toyota, Suzuki, VW, etc.
A similar situation was created by USA in early 1973. USA is addicted of getting oil for free. Their greed has no bound. They did havoc on environment in the name of so called industrialization and are continuing the same. And most importantly they think it is their birth right and prevent all other other country trying the same. They are self appointed big-brother of all.

Where as in India we have roughly 14 million cars and yes it is growing very fast.
More than two third of these cars are small and fuel efficient.
