An Indian Student

One of my friends has sent this via e-mail to me. It is funny and hilarious. But the topic is very much sensitive because there are lot of people is suffering. And above all those incidents are effecting India’s relation with that particular country. India has so many problems within and outside. Let’s just not create another problem by doing all this things. I don’t know which side to be blamed but there is always two side of a coin. You can’t clap by one hand. I can’t do any thing to other part but what I can do is request all those Indian students respect the culture and people where you are going. India is completely different country compared to Western world and America. There are certain things which may not be acceptable to that country but it is not an issue in India. In my opinion there should have an ‘intercultural training’ with respective country where our students are traveling. These students should be aware of ‘what to do’ and ‘what not to do’ before going there.

Anyway enjoy the story.

Here is one of the explanations for *Why Indian Students are attacked abroad.............?*

It was the first day of a school in USA and a new Indian student named Chandrasekhar Subramanian entered the fourth grade.

The teacher said, "Let's begin by reviewing some American History. Who said 'Give me Liberty, or give me Death'?"

She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Chandrasekhar, who had his hand up:? ' Patrick Henry, 1775' he said.

'Very good! Who said 'Government of the People, by the People, for the People, shall not perish from the Earth?''

Again, no response except from Chandrasekhar. 'Abraham Lincoln, 1863' said Chandrasekhar.

The teacher snapped at the class, 'Class, you should be ashamed. Chandrasekhar, who is new to our country, knows more about our historythan you do.'

She heard a loud whisper: 'F ___ the Indians,'

'Who said that?' she demanded. Chandrasekhar put his hand up. 'General Custer, 1862.'

At that point, a student in the back said, 'I'm gonna puke.'

The teacher glares around and asks 'All right! Now, who said that?'Again, Chandrasekhar says, 'George Bush to the Japanese Prime Minister, 1991.'

Now furious, another student yells, 'Oh yeah? Suck this!'

Chandrasekhar jumps out of his chair waving his hand and shouts to the teacher, 'Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky,1997'

Now with almost mob hysteria someone said 'You little shit. If you say anything else, I'll kill you.' Chandrasekhar frantically yells at the top of his voice, ' Michael Jackson to the child witnesses testifying against him, 2004.'

The teacher fainted. And as the class gathered around the teacher on the floor, someone said, 'Oh shit, we're screwed!' And Chandrasekhar said quietly, 'I think it was Lehmann Brothers, September 4th, 2008'.

WC: Germany 4 : England 1

What a match it was Germany vs. England. This is the best match so far in this WC. Germany is simply outstanding and England was pathetic. As commentator said during the match “Germany toying with England” was absolutely true. Germany out played England in every department. England’s defense was the weakest part. German strikers had enough time of placing ball properly and then taking shot in England goal. Frank Lampard was unfortunate that referee cancelled a clear goal. May be this equalizer goal enthusiastically boost up England little bit. But what a looser England team is. Rooney failed a single goal in this WC. It is for sure England media (which is very strong, Jabulani ball story is an example) will criticize their team. But referee has already created enough material for the media to spare England player.

Refereeing in this WC is miserable. Lampard’s shot was well half a meter inside the goal line. In Argentina-Mexico match also Tevez was in clear off side position and referee overlooked it and Mexico conceded a goal. Through out the WC so far refereeing was bad. There was unnecessary yellow card. They are also unable to identify play acting. Red card to Brazil’s Kaka was unfortunate too.

The Indian and European way!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a big argument / misunderstanding.
Indians used to wash their porta after their activities in toilet mostly using hands. However in modern day commode attached with water jet provide a ‘off handy’ facility. In this case water jet does the work and spares our hand doing dirty job.

Where as our European counter use toilet paper for the same work and most importantly without any leverage of hand.

Now argument is, as most of my European colleagues say, that ‘how anyone can use same hand what they use for eating’. Please keep in mind when we ‘anuash’ (anus wash), we normally use our left hand unless there is no constraints. Also we Indians are very much comfortable using our hand than fork and knife; but that is the other hand.

Where as Europeans used to hold fork in left hand and knife on the other while eating. There by normally they consider left hand for eating. So, it is conceptual misunderstanding that Indians use same hand for eating and ‘anuash’.

But story is opposite. We use different hand for eating and ‘anuash’
European use left hand for both the work. However they use fork for eating.

Note: Both Indians & Europeans use soap after ‘anuash’ / ‘paperash’ (paper wash).

Difference between love and marriage

A student asks a teacher, "What is love? "The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back.

But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back o pick."

The student went to the field, go thru first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wonders....may be there is a bigger one later.

Then he saw another bigger one... But may be there is an even bigger one waiting for him.

Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he start to realize that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, he know he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted.

So, he ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.

The teacher told him, "...this is love... You keep looking for a better one, but when later you realize, you have already miss the person...."

*"What is marriage then?" the student asked.

The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the corn field and choose the biggest corn and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."

The student went to the corn field, this time he is careful not to repeat the previous mistake, when he reach the middle of the field, he has picked one medium corn that he feel satisfy, and come back to the teacher.

The teacher told him, "this time you bring back a corn.... You look for one that is just nice, and you have faith and believe this is the best one you get.... This is marriage."

J M Voith / Voith
A very good information about early design of hydro turbines. All these are designed and installed in the year 1903. That is 107 years back and still working fine and generating power. It's quite amazing and fascinating. Above all it make a sensation in your body when you stuck to photograph like this (J M Voith, Heidenhain; now it is Voith, www.voith.com). This is the same company I’m working at; having a strong heritage of technological excellence staggering 140 years.

Tata Nano factory and Singur people

Dear friends have you seen Tata Motor’s advertisement (published in TOI, date 02-06-2010) for the inauguration of new NANO factory at Sanand, Gujrat? If not, let me remind you that it is very same factory what Tata Motor planned at Singur, West Bengal. I think now you can remember the whole story. It’s almost one and half year on and I just want to know where are those people who protested it at Singur and what happened to the people who own that disputed land. I don’t like to calculate what they gained and what not.
As far as Tata is concern I salute Mr. Tata’s spirit. Needless to say Sanand factory is a big slap to Ms. Mamta Banarjee and her allies.
Ms. Banarjee has promised to establish railway factory in the very same land in Singur! If at all railway factory come-up in the same land it could be a moral defeat of Singur people. They simply used for sake of dirty politics. As a railway minister Ms. Banarjee does not see any harm is taking farm-land for industrial purpose. And do I need point my finger who is gaining political advantages of it?
But still the question remains where are those people for whom or in the name of whom all this game played?

Few facts from today's Economics Times

Sanand is 60 km from Ahmedabad and it had no existence in Indian manufacturing market.
-But today reality price have risen by 300%
-New reality corridor to come up in between Sanand and Ahmedabad.
-Sanand is likely to be next stop for 70,000 young graduates every year from Gujrat's 696 ITIs.
-Rajkot -an established industrial cluster also hopes to benefit from Sanand's fortune.

Friends irony is Singur and Kolkata is almost has similar geographical scenario. Ms. Banarjee, with due respect, replace Sanand and Ahmedabad with Singur and Kolkata respectively; and try to imagine.

What a coincidence today is the date of announcement of West Bengal civic election result. Till last information received in Kolkata Trinamul Congress (TMC) own 94 seats out of 141 seats. TMC almost white washed CPM and Congress from the West Bengal. Ms. Banarjee is next CM waiting for taking oath.
Congratulation to you Ms. Banarjee.
